My spiritual beliefs are complex and personal

Even though I am not an Atheist/Agnostic/Humanist (I have complex and personal spiritual beliefs), I am a fan of Humanism since I enjoy Humanistic culture (so I am a Cultural Humanist)

I am against Donald Trump's Garden of American Heroes idea and I am glad that Joe Biden scrapped that horrible idea. It was an unhinged and provactively reactionary thing for him to do and it is an embarrassment having a President try to create such a thing.

The federal government (including our Presidents) should not tell us who our historical heroes should be and should not force these names upon us. Nor should they create a garden to house statues to honor a select group of people when there are billions of American heroes who can never and will never get a bust in those gardens. Making a garden of American heroes is telling Americans that 'these American heroes are better than you because they have a statue here and you don't'. Our founding fathers would not have tolerated such a fascist thing like that. A Garden of Heroes is something you'd see in CCP China or in the USSR under Josef Stalin, such cultist trash should not be in the US. What is with the Republicans obsession with statues?

The LA Times and Washington Post were wrong to tell people to stop consuming so much to stop the supply chain problems  Limiting consumption is the worst way to fix those problems

I am fine with Oregon's right to die law

Seat belt laws

I support removing red light cameras. Less spying on citizens by the gov the better. Other things can be used to stop accidents that don't involve spying.

I am somewhat a Neo Luddite as I feel like Dr Malcolm felt in Jurassic Park, just because we could doesn't mean we should. Social Media in particular has destroyed our society in a way we can never get it back. I feel so much technology is unneeded.

Deep down inside I also at times somewhat feel these things:

That an expanded ARAPNET should have been created instead of the Internet.

That pagers, palm pilots and blackberries should have been where it ended with mobile things. I am fine with modern cars since they are less technological than older cars of the 20th century (in that they are cheaply made), so I wouldn't change anything about cars.

That limited cable of the late 1970s to early 1980s was enough channels for people but that ideally TV like in the 1950s and 1960s should have been the norm in terms of how many channels and the like.

In the 1800s, making the 'world smaller' through the Telegraph was done by Imperialists  in order to 'civilize' the world as an alternative to actual Imperialism (i.e remote Imperialism).  So telecommunication can be seen as a good thing that was started for very bad reasons. So they got their wish and 'civilized' the world through 'remote Imperialism' (telecommunications, TV etc)

I want video games to be as hard now as they were in the 1980s and 1990s (ie cheap level design, not telling the player where to go, unfair gameplay etc, ie Nintendo Hard). This teaches players how to overcome obstacles ,rewards players who keep going and instills values.

I am against gambling being legal. Gambling is also not good and we should only do gambling to win tokens (as in arcades) or in video games (where there is no money reward). But if i need money I may gamble.

I never hurt my stuffed animals, dolls, action figures and computers ever. I would never hurt them ever unless I was warped to a sci fi reality and they were attacking me, then it would be just to get them off of me or to de escalate. However, if they got destroyed in an accidental fire or explosion, I'd be fine with it

I am conservative on a lot of issues that I am conservative on, in big part because being conservative is counter cultural and its more fun to be counter cultural than be cultural (see Hippies in 1960s for more). Of course only on a few or some issues only
