Crime and Drugs etc
Crime
I am have some issues with certain aspects of criminal justice reform
I don't think most conservatives who talk about black on black violence and Black on Asian violence are racist for doing so, they are just in self protect mode, deflecting blame from whites to blacks which is childish, mean spirited and dangerous.
Even if blacks do commit more crimes against Asians than whites do, confirming those facts can hurt the African American community and does nothing to unite us. I personally, refuse to blame any race or ethnicity for those crimes. We have to protect Asians from violence and discrimination (like discrimination from colleges ie Yale), playing the blame game doesn't accomplish that or anything.
Oscar Lee Stewart should get the same punishment that any other person would get for killing someone via arson. There are no excuses for what he did.
Crimes committed by blacks should be reported the just as much and in the same exact way as crimes committed by whites are reported.
I am generally against defunding or abolishing the police as I feel it is impractical and reactionary (and hurts Democrats). I instead believe police departments should hire BLM activists and anti police brutality activists as police officers since they are the last people to use police brutality on suspects. With police departments defunded, violence and injury to civilians increase leading to taxation by citation which is very counterproductive. More changes like extremely more neighborhood watch groups, having Celebration Florida like citizen security patrol units (who do what those Celebration Florida like citizen security patrol units do when they encounter crime) ,more citizens arrests (but all those citizens would be heavily encouraged to and possibly incentivized to have training for those roles that fused the same training that MSP PD had in the late 2010s early 2020s with Peace Core training and Martial Arts training, the latter of which preaches not resorting to violence and only using karate in self defense and things like that). Moreover, having IAB being more common and having more influence, oversight and control of Police Departments also would something that would be done here.
I feel if the above changes wouldn't work, then we should at least strongly consider having police departments being run by the county and that those county run police departments should implement deescalation training, ditch chokeholds, ask police officers to step in for other police officers if they used too much force, have police officers patrol on foot more, have police officers introduce themselves to the residents and even host BBQs for their community which may lead to violent crime drops. While also having more than some common sense adherence to International Human Rights laws for the police officers.
Moreoever, it wouldn't hurt for and I'd be somewhat open to sheriffs one day permanently replacing the police as the primary law enforcers in the US.
I also feel outsourcing select issues away from the police to non police specialists should be something to consider at some point in the future when its viable and also something I would be very open to supporting (ie drug councilors stepping in for the police on drug related crimes, rape councilors stepping in for the police on rape reports where the perp isn't on scene, and domestic violence councilors stepping in for police on domestic violence cases etc)
If the police are abolished, we'll have vigilantism which would crazy and seemingly unviable.
Even though I am not pro police, I support the Marxist Leninist secret police like pro police people support Blue Lives Matter
I am against people disrespecting the police (like throwing things at them, spitting on them, harassing them, calling for violence against them). Of course in legit self defenses instances where there is beyond a reasonable doubt the police officers are acting against the rules then you have to use self defense on the police officers.
It would be good to see more Guardian Angel type groups around the US etc and have them be used in place of the police in some instances around the US etc.
I more than conditionally support ban the box but not for reasons you think
I am against the death penalty in nearly every case (though I am sure there has to be '1 or 2' cases where its justified)
Drugs/Alchohol/Stealing
States should provide legal protection from arrest and prosecution for people calling for medical assistance for someone with opiate related problems. I also support relaxed restrictions on prescribing Naloxone (laws like NH HB 270 and NH HB 271)
I am technically against non synthetic Marijuana being legalized for rec use. Instead I want a system where anyone who wants non synthetic Marijuana has to go to a medical professional (as a formality) as a patient and then be given a choice by the doctor/prescriber between prescription non synthetic Marijuana or buying non synthetic Marijuana over the counter to keep up the appearance (albeit false appearance) that non synthetic Marijuana isn't technically legal 'recreationally'
Non synthetic Marijuana should be decriminalized if someone gets non synthetic Marijuana without seeing a medical professional first or if they saw a medical professional but in the extremely rare case that medical professional did not prescribe non synthetic Marijuana for that patient or give the patient the blessing to get non synthetic Marijuana over the counter. Though ideally non synthetic Marijuana should be legalized for rec use but with less amount legal than is legal now in places where its legal and with more regulation of it than it is regulated now in places where it is legal.
I am against Cocaine, Synthetic Marijuana, Crystal Meth, Crack, LSD, Fentanyl, Purple Haze and Heroin being legalized or decriminalized as hard drugs destroy peoples minds, lives and bodies. I believe we need to focus a lot on drug prevention ie preventing unemployment, fighting poverty, and preventing family dissolution. We should also bring back the Just Say No anti drug campaign. I do not want people to use non synthetic Marijuana (for the most part), Synthetic Marijuana, Crystal Meth, Cocaine, Crack, Heroin, LSD, Fentanyl and Purple Haze for rec use. I want people to be drug free. Drugs may seem cool but they are not cool and do a lot of damage.
People should go to prison for hard drugs but they should be subjected to work release and then if they show really good behavior and progress kicking their habit be transferred to a center/prison which is between a halfway house and a 'Country club' type prisons that CEOs go to
I also more than somewhat support mandatory minimum sentencing for non Cocaine hard drug convicts only if they are sentenced to Patuxent Institution type Institutions then they get transfered to force drug rehab before they get transfered home to finish out their sentence if they show any even remote signs of kicking their habit and aren't a burden (but when they are transfered home, they are mandated to self isolate for months to maybe a fewish years to finish out their sentence ie they are mandated to have the same freedoms and lack of freedom to finish out their sentence at home that Americans in the US had or didn't have in 2020 during the lockdowns)
Somewhat deep down inside, I look the other way with outsourcing Cocaine (injected only) and Crack related crimes from police to drug councilors so Cocaine (injected only) and Crack users are forced to go drug rehab-drug diversion program instead of prison every time they are caught with Cocaine (injected only) or Crack . I believe that might be in the realm of being a decent alternative
I am fine with St John's Wart and Ecstasy being legalized for rec use
I support more freedom in prison for inmate like they had in the show Oz (with similar liberal prison rehabilitation focus for them) but with less liberal ideas that backfire
Repeat hard drug offenders who refuse treatment should get harsher prison sentences than they do now.
Drug traffickers should go to prison for at least 10 years for drug trafficking.
All workers in the US should be tested for Cocaine, Heroin, LSD and Crack etc. If any worker is high on Marijuana while on the job, they should be warned about doing Marijuana on the job, possibly and conditionally demoted and put on a short leash that probably will (and should) lead to them being fired for doing Marijuana on the job
I don't feel that Alcohol and Liquor should be sold at theme parks, or at outdoor restaurants (though possibly they should with some exceptions)
Prohibition was the right thing for the right time. I don't have to say whether I want it to come back now since it is never coming back
I condtionally and with compassion support blue laws being implemented in all 50 states
Stealing is wrong and people should go to prison for stealing.
